The problem with Lutheranism is existential

Pillar and Ground of the Truth has a new post entitled “The Kingdom of God does not consist in talk, but in power”. Here is a quote:

"The problem with Lutheranism is existential. It is not the Church. And that is not a judgment based on Orthodox sources. It is based on the words of the Lutheran Confessions."

Father Gregory wrote, some years back, as we "journeyed East", an excellent paper on this topic. As you think on the statement you have quoted, note its profound meaning and the depth of its consequences. I may have that essay around, but perhaps Father Gregory would have it more readily at hand, and would send it to you. I don't remember if he posted it or a link to it on his blog.

Glory to God for all things!

Can someone point me to the quotes in the Lutheran Confessions that state they are not the Church. I'm not challenging you, just trying to find it for my own reference.

Thanks,

Dave
